Kati is a former teacher with over twenty-five years of experience who now supports children who think and feel deeply through her programme, Smart Rebel Kids. She also supports parents of high-ability and gifted children who sense that something important is being missed at school, even when their child appears to be doing well. Her advocacy work focuses on helping parents translate what they see at home — patterns, behaviours, and learning needs that are often invisible in the classroom — into clear, constructive communication schools can respond to. This isn’t about pushing harder or creating conflict; it’s about finding shared language, asking the right questions, and keeping the focus on learning rather than labels or behaviour, so conversations with school can move forward with clarity and trust.

Smart Rebel Kids began when Kati recognised that some children don’t simply learn quickly — they develop unevenly. Their thinking may be far ahead of their age, while other areas remain entirely age-appropriate. These children move in depth rather than speed: making cross-disciplinary connections, asking complex questions, and searching for meaning well beyond what is typically expected of them.
They thrive on discussion, exploration, and ideas that stretch them — yet they are often misunderstood or overlooked, precisely because they don’t fit standard expectations.
To support them, Kati created a small-group mentoring model built around meaningful conversation. In groups of six, young thinkers explore ideas together, learn to articulate their thoughts clearly, listen deeply, and build on one another’s insights. Just as importantly, they learn how to communicate respectfully with people who think differently — a vital skill for children whose ideas may outpace their social or emotional age.
This dialogue-led approach sits at the heart of her work and opens a level of intellectual and emotional growth that is difficult to access in more performance-driven settings.
With advanced study in education and decades of experience supporting children who learn in original, non-linear ways, Kati helps thoughtful young minds turn big ideas into confident, connected thinking. Her sessions blend creative problem-solving, reflection, and purposeful conversation in a space that values depth, kindness, and curiosity over pressure or performance.
Many of the children who come to her feel slightly out of step with their peers. Kati helps them find both balance and belonging — supporting them to express their ideas with empathy, understand different perspectives, and build meaningful relationships with others who think like they do, and with those who don’t.
Above all, she believes that children with uneven development need both safety and stretch — and that every Smart Rebel deserves to be seen, heard, and understood.
